I dreamed of croissants last night. There was some marvellous, intricate justification for eating them. How disturbing is that?

Also, I am awake and active at a ridiculously early time in the morning.

I got my period, but I didn’t even realise it was due because I have had no PMT at all this month. That is extremely abnormal. I think it may be connected to using less alum crystal deodorant. Mercola said it was a pseudo-oestrogen, so I’m kinda going without at the moment. I don’t seem to smell anymore anyway, unless I eat something tasty.

I’m still feeling a little inflamed and hot from the histamine experiment, but much better.

For someone who hasn’t eaten very much, I feel stuffed.

Last year I tried to eat some porridge oats. I soaked them carefully in yoghurt overnight, just like you are supposed to. I ate them the following morning. Less than two hours later I was shaking, angry, bawling my eyes out, and felt like death. I have never had a more extreme reaction to a food.

Cereals contain a lot of carbohydrate. They may be described as “low GI” on the side of the packet, but they will still send your blood sugar rocketing and crashing if you have any kind of problem with your insulin mechanism.

Soaked grains can contain some amines and glutamates depending on how they have been fermented. Sure, they contain much less in the way of lectins, phytates, and other nasties on the digestion, but hell they will make you crazy.

Today, I didn’t soak my oats, I just boiled them fresh with some salt, and added cream and milk. I’m feeling pretty good at the moment.
